Gulf South Regional Perspective After Katrina

RAND Corporation has turned to Suisman Urban Design to help develop a comprehensive strategy for its new RAND Gulf States Policy Institute. Based in Jackson, Mississippi, the Institute was created in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The Institute now provides immediate access to RAND’s research and analytical services for regional decision-makers. Suisman helped RAND describe the region in terms of natural systems, land use, infrastructure, and urbanization, and helped frame a series of research directions which will be pursued by RAND analysts in a range of different disciplines.
