In partnership with RAND Qatar Policy Institute, Suisman Urban Design develops innovative national prototype for Qatar.
Working with RAND Health and the RAND Qatar Policy Institute, conceptual prototypes for primary care centers developed Suisman Urban Design were presented in December to the newly formed Qatar National Health Authority. RAND has been a leader in helping the Arabian Gulf state reform and modernize the health care system for its 750,000 inhabitants.
A new network of “wellness centers” is envisioned which will not only provide ambulatory care and relieve pressure on hospital emergency rooms, but emphasize good health in diet, exercise, and lifestyle. Suisman is working with RAND to determine the size, scope and location of potential centers, their working arrangements, and their urban and architectural character.
